Paperless Printing

Background

When our long-time client Concord Premium Meats told us about their goal to be a completely paperless company by 2024 we got to work planning simple yet elegant solutions to streamline every touchpoint into digital only processes.

Among the first challenges we took on was printing. What is the most efficient, user friendly and industry standard way to display reports from the MultiValue back-end without printing to a physical printer or designing individual programs for each report to print to PDF?

Solution

We developed Paperless Printing (Print to PDF), with very little modification to the existing system you can print any report that exists in your MultiValue System to a PDF. In just a few keystrokes the report you’ve “printed” pops up on your screen as a fully formatted PDF in your browser ready to go. Just as quickly, and one could say, more easily, than printing to a physical printer. 

How it Works:

Print for PDFs takes interacts with the UniVerse Spooler to intercept print jobs generated by the back-end and generates a sleek PDF and pops it up in your desktop browser, immediately available to use however you need.

• No searching for printed PDF in files, folders, or e-mail inboxes

• The generated report pops up in your desktop browser

• Huge functional benefit with a minor system update

• PDFs can be generated for any report in your system without individualized programming

• Once generated, PDF’s can be saved, printed and/or e-mailed
